"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God..."

- Ephesians 2:8

Congregational Goal for Family Ministry

We strengthen families through Christ-centered social, spiritual and intergenerational activities, equipping them to be faith builders in their homes.

Family Ministry Purpose Statement

Family Ministry exists to strengthen and involve members of all ages in a home-centered, church-supported ministry through spiritual encouragement and social activities.

Family Ministry Impact Ministries: GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

Adult Ministry

Recognizing that many older adults need flexible scheduling and short-term commitments, we provide opportunities for fellowship, service and education, encouraging them to share their wisdom and faith.

Objectives: The Adult Ministry Action Team will...

  1. Plan regular opportunities for adult fellowship, Bible study, encouragement and awareness of service opportunities and community programs.
  2. Recognize our over 50 adults on the first Sunday in November in worship and at a dinner in their honor.
  3. Encourage and seek opportunities for intergenerational events.

Children’s Ministry

We involve children in fourth through sixth grade in the life of the church, encouraging them in their faith, and helping them to develop Christ-centered relationships.

Objective: The Children’s Ministry Action Team will provide Christ-centered social or service activities for children in the fourth through sixth grades.

Little Lambs Ministry

We reach out to expectant moms and families with newborns through preschool children, with help and education, encouraging them to be the primary faith teachers to their children.

Objectives: The Little Lambs Ministry Action Team will…

  1. Maintain a list of expectant moms.
  2. Provide a hospital visit from the Pastoral Staff at the time of the birth.
  3. Make a home visit following the birth.
  4. Make a Preschool/Daycare contact around eighteen months-old.
  5. Initiate an ESM contact to families with children around four years-old.

Parenting Ministry

We encourage parents by offering support, education and fellowship to become faith builders in their families.

Objectives: The Parenting Ministry Action Team will…

  1. Provide educational opportunities to strengthen parents as faith builders in their homes and encourage fellowship and relationship-building with other parents at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
  2. Provide regular opportunities for Mom’s Bible Study.

Young Adult Ministry

We encourage young adults to stay connected to the church by offering guidance, support and opportunities for Christ-centered fellowship.

Objectives: The Young Adult Ministry Action Team will...

  1. Identify Emmanuel members between the ages of 18-24.
  2. Contact these members throughout the year to provide them spiritual encouragement and support and opportunities for Bible study and fellowship.

Youth Ministry

We involve youth in grades 9-12 in the life of the church by providing personal support and individual faith development, and promoting Christian relationships through fellowship and service.

Objectives: The Youth Ministry Action Team will...

  1. Plan and implement a monthly calendar of activities to include social, service and spiritual growth opportunities.
  2. Recruit and train youth activity leaders to implement planned activities providing personal support and individual faith development
