"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God..."

- Ephesians 2:8

Children’s Sunday School – Today, we will not hold the regular children’s Sunday School classes in order to allow our Sunday school teachers to attend an instructional meeting.  Instead, we will offer a group event during the Sunday school hour for all school age children.  Please join us in the school gym.

Prayer of Thanksgiving for Birthdays – Thank God for the following birthdays, and ask Him to provide peace and fullness of life for those who serve Him.  We thank Him for their faithful example.

Emmanuel’s LWML will meet Thursday, February 1, beginning at 1:00 p.m. to work for an hour making diapers for third world countries.  These will be made from used cotton t-shirts.  We are asking everyone to clean out their drawers and bring in the cotton t-shirts that are no longer being used. They can be put in the LWML box under our Mite Box in the Welcome Center.  From 2-3:00 p.m., we will continue our Bible study based on the Feeding of Five Thousand. This Bible Study takes an in-depth look at how we need to rely more on God to help us in our times of need.

Lutherans for Life – “Life issues didn’t arise overnight. Their frequent connection to medical technology can make them seem like recent developments—and advances in understanding physiology and pharmaceuticals have made abortion and euthanasia more efficient and available of late. But these circumstances have been causing society’s difficulties—and providing opportunities to proclaim the Gospel—since ancient times.” Rev. Michael W. Salemink, executive director of Lutherans For Life – A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life • www.lutheransforlife.org
