Pictorial Directory – Putting names with faces is one of the first steps in getting to know each other.  In order to assist our members with this important process, Emmanuel will be issuing a new pictorial directory in the coming months. Each family that participates will receive a FREE 8 x 10 portrait, pictorial directory and digital directory.  We encourage members to please use the online site for registering for your appointment by going to www.emmanuellutheran.org and clicking on the Pictorial Directory icon.  It is extremely easy to follow to make your appointment.  We will also have paper registration on worship weekends in Ebenezer Hall.  Please note, when the paper registration is available, the website is not so that we do not duplicate appointments. The website will be turned-off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday and turned-back on Monday morning.  For those of you who will not be able to use the April dates, we do have the dates of June 26 – 30 available and registration for those dates will be held sometime in June, details will be forthcoming. Please refer to the letter that was sent home for more details and for the promos that are available.

Prayer Ministry is an effective means of intercessory prayer and a powerful ministry at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.  God encourages us to “Pray continually” (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and promises that, in Christ, “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective” (James 6:16).  With this and many other promises from God’s Word, we have the privilege to boldly approach God with the eonfidence that He hears and answers prayer for the sake of Jesus.  We are thankful for Darlene Lankenau who has served so faithfully as the team leader for this ministry.  As she steps aside we are looking for a new leader.  Please contact Lana Hille at 423-1369 if you are interested in discussing this opportunity.

Lutherans for Life – “When we pray the Lord’s Prayer, we ask God to ‘deliver us from evil.’ We ask Him to protect us against the callous evil of abortion, the taking of a human life. We are harnessed with the burden of belonging to a nation that practices this barbaric procedure and calls it a ‘right.’ May God have mercy on us.” Chaplain (Lt. Colonel) Steven Hokana, Assistant Director of Ministry to the Armed Forces (MAF) (LCMS) – A Life Quote from Lutherans For Life • www.lutheransforlife.org
