Pictorial Directory – Registration for the June dates of photography (Tuesday, June 26 – Saturday, June 30) will be open for you to schedule your appointment on Tuesday, May 1.  Go to Emmanuel’s website at emmanuellutheran.org and click on the directory icon which will then take you to the directory site.   If you are unable to make your own appointment or have questions, please call Becki in the church at 423-1369 and she will be happy to help you.

Lost and Found—Items that have been left in church are put in the “lost and found” box located in the Welcome Center.  The items that are now in the box will be donated in a few weeks, so please take the time to go through it if you have misplaced an item in church.  Thank you!

Needed – We are in need of a volunteer to transport a member, living in the Maplecrest / I469 area, to and from church.  Please call Lana in the church office at 423-1369 if you are able to help.

Caregiver Support – Are you currently serving as a caregiver?  Do the needs of a spouse, parent or child require your attention?  Would you like opportunities to talk with other caregivers?  Join others who are experiencing similar demands on time and energy to gain answers, perspective and support.  We will meet in Ebenezer Hall on Monday, April 9, at 1:00 p.m.   For more information call Lana Hille at the church office at 423-1369.

Senior Lunch Bunch – Tuesday, April 17 – Join us for Lunch Bunch for those 50 and older. Fellowship hour begins at 11:00 a.m. in the lower level of Ebenezer with lunch served at noon.  Our guest speaker will be Pastor Thomas. He will share the detailed plans he and Sonya have for their time away early next year.  Please make your reservations by Friday, April 13, by calling the receptionist at 423-1369 or sign-up in the Welcome Center.  Cost for lunch is $7.

Visual Faith Ministry will meet on Wednesday, April 18, 6-8pm in Ebenezer Hall Come and spend some time learning to pray Scripture. Tools and processes will be shared to help with the challenges of slowing down and dealing with distractions. How do we train our spirit to pray? It takes practice! No skills needed. Materials supplied. Use the gift of time to pray, listen and bless others. Join us and bring a friend! 

Youth News - Senior High Youth—9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Graders

SNA will meet on Sundays, April 15 and 29, from 6-8 p.m. in the Loft.

Pedal City – On Saturday, April 21, the high school youth will meet at Pedal City (1215 W. Main Street) at 6:30 p.m. to depart for a bike ride and progressive dinner.  Hosting families include David and Anita Kuker, Phil and Laura Jackson, and Thomas and Sonya Eggold.

Food Pantry – To meet the  needs of those who visit our food bank in April we could use donations of  cereal, canned vegetables, fruit, peanut butter, mac and cheese, pasta, pasta sauce, deodorant, shampoo, dish and hand soap, toothpaste and paper products, especially toilet paper and paper towels.  Food donations can be placed in the “Food Pantry” box located in the Welcome Center.  Cash donations may be placed in your church envelope and marked “food pantry” on the “other” line.  Members may stop by for food any day when the office is open, and the food pantry will be available for those living in the 46802 zip code area on Thursday, April 19, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the lower level of Ebenezer Hall.  If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact Carolyn Beitz at 432-9189. 

Emmanuel’s LWML will meet Thursday, May 3 in the lower level of Ebenezer Hall, beginning at 1:00 p.m. to work for an hour making diapers for third world countries.  These will be made from used cotton t-shirts.  We are asking everyone to clean out their drawers and bring in the cotton t-shirts that are no longer being used. They can be put in the LWML box under our Mite Box in the Welcome Center.  From 2-3:00 p.m., we will continue our Bible study, taken from the LWML Quarterly.

Music and Babies – Are you looking for a fun activity to do with your baby that will promote your child’s development and growth?  On four consecutive Wednesday evenings, from 6:00 - 6:40 pm, Jill Hockemeyer will be offering free music lessons to babies, 12 months and younger, and their caregiver(s). This is the final portion of Jill’s training to become a licensed Kindermusik Instructor.  The class begins on May 23 and will conclude on June 13, with classes taking place at Emmanuel.  If you or someone you know is interested in this opportunity, or would like more information, please email Jill at jillhockemeyer1970@gmail.com.

Cup of Kindness boxes can be found in the Welcome Center.  The money contributed in the boxes is distributed by Lutheran Social Services to local families who have crisis needs.

Wellspring Snacks – Once again Emmanuel members generously supplied over 275 snacks each week in March for the Wellspring after-school and senior programs.  Great outreach to the neighborhood!

Electronic Giving with Joyful Response – If automatic withdrawal giving from one of your existing bank accounts would be a helpful stewardship tool for you, please contact our Office Manager Becki Elonzae (423-1369) for information on setting up this free service through the “Joyful Response” program sponsored by the Lutheran Church Extension Fund.  

LWML Stamps for Missions – The LWML is collecting cancelled stamps.  These stamps are sold by the pound to a local stamp business with proceeds going toward funding its mission projects.  You can deposit your cancelled stamps in the box in the Welcome Center.  Please try to leave a half inch paper border around each stamp.  Thank you for supporting this ministry.

Food PantryThe Food Pantry Ministry Team is thankful for the great storage closet constructed by the Thursday Guys located in the hallway between the new Nursery and the original basement.

Eyeglass and Hearing Aid Donations – The Lion’s Club has long been recognized for their efforts in assisting the sight impaired by collecting used eyeglasses.  Not as well-known is their collection of hearing aids and batteries.  Our member, Dick Alfeld has placed a collection box in the Welcome Center to gather those eyeglasses and hearing aids and batteries that you no longer use.  Thank you for your support.

Attention: Youth Ushers Needed! – Emmanuel is in need of Youth Ushers for the 10:30 a.m. worship service. Lutheran Men of Song - We’re not the Marines, but The Lutheran Men of Song are looking for a few good men who enjoy singing.
