Emmanuel—St. Michael School
Interim Principal

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

I grew up in St. Peter, Illinois, a small southern Illinois town, where I had the opportunity to attend a Lutheran grade school.  My dad was a Lutheran school teacher and principal, instilling in me a desire to teach and lead in a Lutheran school.
After graduating from Concordia University Chicago, I received my call to Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Reed City, Michigan.  I served as a first and second grade teacher at Trinity for 15 years before receiving a call to Emmanuel—St. Michael School, Fort Wayne, to serve as assistant principal. I earned my Master's degree in education from Indiana Wesleyan.
I met my husband, Tom, in Reed City, and we have two children, Emma and Elijah. They attend Concordia Lutheran High School.
The best part of serving in a Lutheran school is being able to live out your Christian faith every day while developing enduring relationships with children and families…getting hugs from kids each day ranks pretty high up there, too!
